From the smoggy streets of Lagos, Nigeria, to the lonely structures of Buffalo, New York, here are some of the places that many consider the least aesthetically beautiful in the globe.

1. Bakersfield, California

Regarding Bakersfield, California, one person strongly commented on it as “the armpit of California.” This city is located in the southern part of the state and has suffered from problems like pollution, poverty, and crime. Although some locals may defend their community, it is obvious that this user was unimpressed.

The user even witnessed a bizarre incident where a woman attempted to fight a seagull over some McDonald’s chips. Despite being named the City of Culture, the city did not impress this particular individual.

When asked about the ugliest city in the world, one user nominated Buffalo, NY. They mentioned the abandoned sites in the city, including steel mills, a mental asylum, grain elevators, and a train station. They even added that the city once painted the grain elevators like beer cans.

Regarding vying for the unflattering title of the world’s ugliest city, Isparta in Turkey emerges as a strong contender, according to a discerning individual. The individual described Isparta as a collection of disorganized buildings with no attractions or activities to offer visitors. The city experiences scorching heat in the summer and freezing cold in the winter. The individual also noted that Isparta lacks a half-decent infrastructure and does not contribute to the economy or anything else. To them, Isparta is nothing more than an idle settlement that only serves as a home to a group of people.

As per one person’s personal encounter, the title of the world’s most unsightly city lands squarely on East St. Louis, Illinois. The individual visited the city in the mid-70s and found it to be incredibly depressed and broken down everywhere they looked. The city had seen better days and had since fallen into disrepair.
